Pandas to Excel
Pandas to Excel:
In order to write your DataFrame to an Excel file using the pandas library in Python, you will need to use the to_excel() function.
Here’s a simple example:
import pandas as pd
# Create a simple DataFrame
df = pd.DataFrame({
'A': ['foo', 'bar', 'baz'],
'B': ['one', 'one', 'two'],
'C': ['x', 'y', 'z'],
'D': [1, 2, 3]
})
# Write the DataFrame to an Excel file
df.to_excel('output.xlsx', index=False)
In this example, the DataFrame df is written to an Excel file named ‘output.xlsx’ in the current directory. The index=False parameter is used to prevent pandas from writing row indices into the spreadsheet.
For more complex operations, such as writing to specific sheets or starting at specific rows, you can use an ExcelWriter object:
with pd.ExcelWriter('output.xlsx') as writer:
df1.to_excel(writer, sheet_name='Sheet1')
df2.to_excel(writer, sheet_name='Sheet2', startrow=2)
In this example, two dataframes (df1 and df2) are written to two different sheets in the same Excel file. The startrow parameter specifies the starting row for writing in the Excel file. Remember to install the openpyxl library if you are working with .xlsx files. You can do this via pip:
pip install openpyxlPython Training Demo Day 1
