AWS Athena Pricing
AWS Athena pricing is generally based on the amount of data scanned during the query execution. It doesn’t charge for the data that’s stored, only for the queries you run against that data. Here’s the general pricing structure that was available at that time:
– You are charged $5 per terabyte scanned by your queries.
– If you cancel a query, you are charged for the amount of data scanned up to the point when you canceled the query.
– You can use data compression, columnar storage formats, and partitioning to significantly reduce the amount of data scanned in a query, and therefore reduce the cost.
Please note that prices can change, and additional costs may apply depending on the specific use case, region, etc. It is always a good idea to refer to the official AWS Athena pricing page on the AWS website for the most up-to-date information.
