AWS DynamoDB Pricing
AWS DynamoDB pricing is based on several factors, including the provisioned throughput capacity, on-demand capacity, data storage, and data transfer. Here are the key components that contribute to the pricing of DynamoDB:
Provisioned Throughput Capacity: DynamoDB allows you to provision read and write capacity units to handle the expected traffic for your tables. You are charged an hourly rate based on the provisioned capacity, regardless of whether you fully utilize it or not. The pricing varies based on the number of read capacity units (RCUs) and write capacity units (WCUs) provisioned.
On-Demand Capacity: Alternatively, you can use on-demand capacity mode, where DynamoDB automatically scales the capacity to handle the workload. With on-demand capacity, you pay per request for read and write operations, without the need to provision capacity in advance.
Data Storage: DynamoDB charges for the amount of data stored in your tables, including the raw data and any indexes. The pricing is based on the size of the data in gigabytes (GB).
Data Transfer: AWS charges for data transferred in and out of DynamoDB. This includes data transferred between DynamoDB and other AWS services within the same region, as well as data transferred between different regions.
Global Tables: If you use DynamoDB Global Tables for multi-region replication, there may be additional costs associated with data transfer and replication.
