EC2 in GCP

EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) is a cloud computing service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), not Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In GCP, the equivalent service to EC2 is called Google Compute Engine (GCE).

Google Compute Engine allows users to create and manage virtual machines (VMs) in the Google Cloud. It provides flexible options for configuring VMs, including selecting the CPU and memory resources, choosing the operating system, and customizing the network settings.

Like EC2, GCE offers features such as auto-scaling to automatically adjust the number of VM instances based on demand, load balancing for distributing traffic across instances, and the ability to create custom machine images for faster VM provisioning.

While EC2 and GCE provide similar functionality, there may be differences in terms of pricing, instance types, storage options, and additional services available in each cloud provider’s ecosystem. It’s important to consider these factors when choosing between AWS and GCP for your cloud computing needs.
