GCP Machine Types List

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers a variety of machine types designed to meet different performance and cost requirements. Machine types are categorized based on their number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) and the amount of memory. Here’s a list of common GCP machine types as of my last knowledge update in January 2022. Keep in mind that Google Cloud may introduce new machine types or modify existing ones, so it’s a good practice to check the official GCP documentation for the most up-to-date information.

Standard Machine Types:

  1. n1-standard-1: 1 vCPU, 3.75 GB RAM
  2. n1-standard-2: 2 vCPUs, 7.5 GB RAM
  3. n1-standard-4: 4 vCPUs, 15 GB RAM
  4. n1-standard-8: 8 vCPUs, 30 GB RAM
  5. n1-standard-16: 16 vCPUs, 60 GB RAM
  6. n1-standard-32: 32 vCPUs, 120 GB RAM
  7. n1-standard-64: 64 vCPUs, 240 GB RAM
  8. n1-standard-96: 96 vCPUs, 360 GB RAM

High Memory Machine Types:

  1. n1-highmem-2: 2 vCPUs, 13 GB RAM
  2. n1-highmem-4: 4 vCPUs, 26 GB RAM
  3. n1-highmem-8: 8 vCPUs, 52 GB RAM
  4. n1-highmem-16: 16 vCPUs, 104 GB RAM
  5. n1-highmem-32: 32 vCPUs, 208 GB RAM
  6. n1-highmem-64: 64 vCPUs, 416 GB RAM
  7. n1-highmem-96: 96 vCPUs, 624 GB RAM

High CPU Machine Types:

  1. n1-highcpu-2: 2 vCPUs, 1.8 GB RAM
  2. n1-highcpu-4: 4 vCPUs, 3.6 GB RAM
  3. n1-highcpu-8: 8 vCPUs, 7.2 GB RAM
  4. n1-highcpu-16: 16 vCPUs, 14.4 GB RAM
  5. n1-highcpu-32: 32 vCPUs, 28.8 GB RAM
  6. n1-highcpu-64: 64 vCPUs, 57.6 GB RAM
  7. n1-highcpu-96: 96 vCPUs, 86.4 GB RAM

Memory-Optimized Machine Types:

  1. n1-megamem-96: 96 vCPUs, 1.4 TB RAM
  2. n1-ultramem-40: 40 vCPUs, 961 GB RAM
  3. n1-ultramem-80: 80 vCPUs, 1.9 TB RAM

Shared-Core Machine Types:

  1. e2-micro: 1 shared vCPU, 0.25 GB RAM
  2. e2-small: 1 shared vCPU, 0.5 GB RAM
  3. e2-medium: 2 shared vCPUs, 1 GB RAM

These machine types cater to various workload requirements, from lightweight applications to memory-intensive data processing tasks. When selecting a machine type, consider factors like CPU, memory, and I/O requirements for your specific application to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, GCP offers custom machine types that allow you to tailor CPU and memory resources to your exact needs.
