Ipynb to Py
Converting a Jupyter Notebook file (.ipynb) to a Python script (.py) is a straightforward process. You can do this using the nbconvert
package, which is often included with Jupyter installations. If you don’t have it installed, you can do so using pip
:
pip install nbconvert
Once you have nbconvert
installed, you can use the following command in your terminal or command prompt to convert the .ipynb file to a .py file:
jupyter nbconvert --to script your_notebook.ipynb
Replace your_notebook.ipynb
with the actual name of your Jupyter Notebook file. After running this command, a new file named your_notebook.py
will be created in the same directory as the original .ipynb file. This .py file will contain the Python code extracted from your Jupyter Notebook.
Keep in mind that some complex notebooks might not convert perfectly to Python scripts, especially if they contain interactive elements, widgets, or complex cell outputs. Therefore, after the conversion, it’s a good idea to review the .py file and make sure everything looks as expected.
