Python Requests Get
Python Requests Get:
The requests
library is a popular HTTP client for Python. It abstracts the complexities of making requests behind a simple API, allowing you to send HTTP requests with methods like .get()
or .post()
. If you want to make a GET request with the requests
library, you can do it like this:
import requests
response = requests.get(‘https://www.example.com’)
# Now, you can check the response content, status, etc.
print(response.status_code)
print(response.text)
In this example, requests.get('https://www.example.com')
sends a HTTP GET request to the specified URL and returns a Response
object. This object contains the server’s response to your request. You can access the response’s details using the methods and properties of the Response
object, such as:
Response.status_code
: The status code returned by the server.Response.text
: The body of the response from the server, as a text string.Response.json()
: This is a method that converts the response text into JSON (if it’s a JSON response).
Remember to install the requests
library before using it by running the command pip install requests
in your terminal if you haven’t done so yet.
