Python Setup Py
The command “python setup.py” typically refers to running the setup.py script for a Python package. The setup.py script is commonly used in Python projects to define the package’s metadata and specify installation instructions.
To run the setup.py script, open a terminal or command prompt and navigate to the directory containing the setup.py file.
Then, execute the following command:
python setup.py <command>
Replace <command> with the specific command you want to run. The available commands depend on the contents of the setup.py file, but some common commands include:
install: Installs the package, including any required dependencies.develop: Installs the package in development mode, allowing you to make changes to the package’s code without reinstalling it.sdist: Creates a source distribution package.bdist: Creates a binary distribution package.clean: Cleans up temporary files generated during the build process.test: Runs the package’s test suite.
Make sure you have Python installed and added to your system’s PATH variable for the python command to work properly.
