Salesforce Portal
Salesforce Portals refer to a set of features within Salesforce that allow organizations to create external-facing websites or web applications for customers, partners, or employees. These portals are designed to provide secure access to specific Salesforce data and functionality to authorized external users without requiring them to have full Salesforce licenses.
There are primarily three types of Salesforce portals:
Customer Community: Customer Community portals are designed to engage and support customers. They allow customers to log in, access their account information, view knowledge articles, interact with customer support, submit cases, and collaborate with other customers in a community-based environment.
Partner Community: Partner Community portals are intended for organizations to collaborate and share data with their partners. Partners can log in, access relevant sales and opportunity information, register deals, access training materials, and interact with the organization’s internal sales and support teams.
Employee Community (Employee Experience): Employee Community portals, also known as Employee Experience (EX) portals, cater to an organization’s internal workforce. These portals provide employees with self-service access to HR-related information, company policies, onboarding materials, and other essential resources.
Salesforce Portals offer a range of customization options, including branding, layout, and user permissions, to tailor the user experience according to each portal’s specific requirements. The goal is to create a seamless and personalized experience for external users while extending the reach and capabilities of the Salesforce platform beyond the organization’s internal users.
