FBDI In Oracle Fusion SCM

FBDI, or File Based Data Import, is a tool used in Oracle Fusion applications, including Oracle Fusion Supply Chain Management (SCM), to allow users to import large volumes of data from legacy systems into Oracle Fusion.

FBDI provides pre-defined templates (Microsoft Excel files) to help users format their data for specific business objects such as purchase orders, suppliers, customers, etc. These templates are then saved as CSV (Comma Separated Value) files, and uploaded into Oracle Fusion using the File Import and Export UI or Web Services. The data can then be imported into Oracle Fusion SCM via the data import management process.

Here are the general steps to use FBDI:

  1. Download FBDI template: Download the appropriate FBDI template for the data that you want to import.

  2. Prepare Data: Populate the downloaded template with the data that you want to import. Be careful to match the format and data types specified in the template.

  3. Generate CSV: Save the populated template as a CSV file.

  4. Upload File: Use Oracle Fusion’s File Import and Export UI to upload your CSV file.

  5. Run Import Process: Initiate the import process for your data from the Oracle Fusion application. There might be multiple processes to run depending on the data being imported.

  6. Review Results: After the import process completes, review the status and check for any errors. If there are errors, you will need to correct the issues in your CSV file and repeat the process.
