Oracle PPM FBDI

Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) often integrates with various systems and tools through FBDi (File-Based Data Import). This approach uses Excel-based templates to gather and upload data into Oracle Cloud Applications.

If you’re looking to utilize Oracle PPM FBDi, follow these general steps:

  1. Download the Template: Oracle provides Excel-based templates for different modules. For PPM, you’ll need to download the relevant FBDi template from the Oracle Cloud.

  2. Fill the Template: Enter the necessary data into the template. Ensure that all mandatory fields are filled in. Also, make sure to validate the data to prevent any errors during the import process.

  3. Generate CSV File: Once you’ve filled in the template, save it as a .csv file. This is the format that Oracle uses to import the data.

  4. Upload to UCM (Universal Content Management): Navigate to the UCM server and upload your .csv file.

  5. Run the Import Process: In the Oracle Cloud application, trigger the import process that corresponds to the data you’re trying to upload. This process will fetch the .csv file from UCM and start importing the data.

  6. Monitor and Verify: After triggering the import, monitor its status. If there are any errors, they’ll typically be shown in a log file. If the process completes successfully, verify that the data has been imported correctly into the Oracle PPM application.
