Mastering Production with SAP PP: Key Concepts Explained

4. Keeping Track: Goods Movement & Capacity Planning

SAP PP tracks the physical flow of materials throughout the production process. Goods receipts record finished products entering the inventory, while goods issue reflects materials leaving the warehouse for production. Capacity Planning ensures you have the right resources (people, machines) available to meet production demands, preventing bottlenecks and delays.

5. Integration is Key

It interacts with MM (Materials Management) for procurement, SD (Sales & Distribution) for order fulfillment, and FICO (Finance) for cost accounting.
