Oracle Fusion PPM FBDI

Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management (PPM) is a comprehensive solution that includes a broad suite of capabilities to manage every phase of the project lifecycle. File-Based Data Import (FBDI) is one of the methods Oracle provides for importing bulk data into the Oracle Fusion applications, including PPM.

The FBDI process in Oracle Fusion PPM typically involves these steps:

  1. Download Templates: Download the predefined Excel templates from the Oracle Fusion application.

  2. Data Entry: Populate the downloaded template with the data you want to import.

  3. Generate CSV: Convert the populated Excel file into a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file, which will be used for import.

  4. Upload to UCM (Universal Content Management): Upload the generated CSV file to Oracle’s UCM.

  5. Run Import and Load Jobs: Once the file is in UCM, execute the necessary import and load scheduled processes from the Fusion application to bring the data into the system.

  6. Monitor and Review: After the jobs are run, it’s crucial to monitor the logs and review the imported data for any inconsistencies or errors.

  7. Post-Processing: Sometimes additional steps might be necessary to finalize the import operation, like running certain calculations or validations in the application.
