AWS Security Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a comprehensive set of security services to help users protect their data, applications, and infrastructure in the cloud. These services are designed to address various security concerns and to help users build secure and compliant environments. Some of the key AWS security services include:

  1. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM): IAM allows you to manage user access and permissions to AWS resources. You can create and manage users, groups, roles, and permissions to control who can access and perform actions on specific resources.

  2. AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF): WAF helps protect web applications from common web exploits and attacks by allowing you to define customizable rules to block malicious traffic before it reaches your application.

  3. AWS Shield: AWS Shield provides protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, helping to keep your applications and websites available even during massive network-layer DDoS attacks.

  4. AWS Key Management Service (KMS): KMS enables you to create and control the encryption keys used to encrypt your data. It integrates with other AWS services, allowing you to encrypt data at rest and in transit.

  5. AWS Certificate Manager (ACM): ACM makes it easy to provision, manage, and deploy Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) certificates for use with AWS services and your internal connected resources.

  6. AWS CloudTrail: CloudTrail provides visibility into user activity by recording AWS API calls, including actions taken through the AWS Management Console, SDKs, command-line tools, and other AWS services.

  7. AWS Config: AWS Config enables you to assess, audit, and evaluate the configurations of your AWS resources continuously. It helps you ensure compliance with your organization’s guidelines and security best practices.

  8. Amazon Inspector: Inspector assesses the security and compliance of your applications and resources by automatically analyzing them for common security vulnerabilities and deviations from best practices.

  9. AWS Security Hub: Security Hub provides a comprehensive view of your security posture across multiple AWS accounts. It aggregates findings from various security services and third-party tools to help you prioritize and remediate security issues.

  10. AWS GuardDuty: GuardDuty is a threat detection service that uses machine learning and anomaly detection to monitor and analyze events across your AWS environment to identify potential security threats.
