Hadoop_Home Windows
The HADOOP_HOME environment variable on Windows. This is essential for configuring Hadoop on a Windows system. Here’s a guide to help you do just that:
Download Hadoop: Ensure that you have downloaded the appropriate version of Hadoop for Windows.
Unzip the Hadoop Files: Unzip the Hadoop files into a directory, such as
C:\Hadoop
.Set Up the Environment Variable:
- Right-click on ‘This PC’ or ‘Computer’ and choose ‘Properties.’
- Click on ‘Advanced system settings.’
- Select the ‘Advanced’ tab, and then click ‘Environment Variables.’
- Under ‘System variables,’ click ‘New.’
- Enter
HADOOP_HOME
as the Variable name and the path to your Hadoop installation (e.g.,C:\Hadoop
) as the Variable value. - Click ‘OK’ to close all of the windows.
Add Hadoop’s Bin Directory to Path:
- Go back to ‘Environment Variables.’
- Find the ‘Path’ variable under ‘System variables,’ and click ‘Edit.’
- Click ‘New’ and add the path to Hadoop’s bin directory (e.g.,
C:\Hadoop\bin
). - Click ‘OK’ to close all of the windows.
Verify the Configuration:
- Open Command Prompt.
- Type
echo %HADOOP_HOME%
and press Enter. It should display the path to your Hadoop installation. - Type
hadoop version
to see the installed Hadoop version.
