Databricks Version
Databricks Version
Databricks has multiple components, each with its versioning:
Databricks Runtime: This is the core engine that runs your Spark workloads. The latest LTS (Long Term Support) versions are:
- Databricks Runtime 10.4 LTS (released March 18, 2022)
- Databricks Runtime 9.1 LTS (released September 23, 2021)
They also have non-LTS versions with newer features but shorter support lifecycles. You can find the latest version and its release notes on the Databricks Runtime release page:
https://docs.databricks.com/en/release-notes/runtime/index.html
Databricks Platform: This is the overall Databricks environment, including the workspace, notebooks, and other features. The release notes for the platform can be found here:
https://docs.databricks.com/en/release-notes/product/index.html
Other Components: Databricks also has other components like Databricks SQL and various developer tools, each with its versioning.
You can usually find the exact version of a specific component in your Databricks environment in the interface or by running particular commands within a notebook or cluster. For example, to get the Spark version, you can run the Spark. version in a PySpark notebook.
